Zaragoza station is named after General Ignacio Zaragoza, the Mexican General who led the army that defeated the French at the Battle of Puelba in 1862, an event celebrated on Cinco de Mayo day by Mexicans in the US, and a public holiday in Mexico. The logo represents the statue of Zaragoza that is found nearby.
Several online sources claim that an exhibit dedicated to the Metro called Expo Metro is located near Zaragoza station, but I have been unable any definite evidence of this. If you’ve been to Expo Metro before, please share pictures with me through the Contact page!
